Cost is always an issue when purchasing instruments. Consider budgeting for a flute, meet that monetary goal and then go shopping for a used professional instrument ... why used? Because pro flute players do trade in instruments for newer/better instruments and because a used instrument will be about 50% - 70% of the cost of a new instrument, and any new instrument you get will be a used instrument the moment you assemble it and toot your first notes.
